About Hampi

Hampi was the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire and today is an open-air landscape of temples, bazaars and royal enclosures spread over a large area. It is better explored over two or three days than squeezed into one.

Summers are very hot, so most visits are planned for the cooler months, with the main sights done early morning and late afternoon.
