Sakleshpur trip from Bangalore

About Sakleshpur

Sakleshpur is quieter than Coorg or Chikmagalur and suits travellers who want green hills, plantation homestays and gentle treks. It sits on the way to the coast, so it also works as a stop on a longer drive.

In the monsoon the ghat roads are lush but wet; we adjust plans to the season.

Getting to Sakleshpur from Bengaluru

Sakleshpur has its own railway station on the Bengaluru–Mangaluru line, and many travellers prefer to drive via Hassan. Ghat roads can be foggy in the monsoon, so we suggest daylight driving and a flexible schedule.

A sample plan for Sakleshpur

Day one: arrive via Hassan and walk around your plantation stay. Day two: visit Manjarabad Fort in the morning and the Bisle Ghat viewpoints later. Drive back on Sunday evening.

Planning tips for Sakleshpur

• Check the weather before trekking, because ghat paths turn slippery.
• Book homestays early for weekends.
• Carry a rain jacket from June to September.
