Bangalore to Alleppey: distance, travel time and trip plan

About Alleppey

Alleppey, officially Alappuzha, is the main base for the Kerala backwaters. The canals and lakes of Kuttanad, where farming happens below sea level, are best seen slowly by boat. A houseboat or a smaller village boat gives a different view of Kerala from the road.

It is a long drive from Bengaluru, so many travellers take a train or fly to Kochi and continue by road. The nearby town of Kumarakom and the beach at Marari are common additions. The Nehru Trophy snake boat race is usually held in August.

Things to do in Alleppey
